Algiers, Algeria | June 30th, 2024 — The independent parliamentary groups seated in the People’s National Assembly (APN) and the Council of the Nation have publicly called on President Abdelmadjid Tebboune to seek a second term. This call comes on the heels of the conclusion of the 2023-2024 parliamentary session.

In a statement released during the session’s closing, the independent parliamentary groups expressed their support for President Tebboune’s candidacy in the upcoming presidential election on September 7.
