ALGIERS- Minister of Industry and Pharmaceutical Production, Mr. Ali Aoun, welcomed a delegation from the National Union of Pharmacy Operators (UNOP) at the ministry’s headquarters in Algiers on Tuesday, according to a statement from the ministry.
During the meeting, Minister Aoun held extensive discussions with representatives of UNOP who presented several professional concerns, including streamlining procedures for the registration of pharmaceutical products and improving timelines. They also discussed promoting local production of medications such as insulin and anticancer drugs, as well as establishing coordination frameworks with various sectors for the production and distribution of these medications.
“In this context, Mr. Aoun instructed the ministry’s services to enhance coordination with all relevant stakeholders and to organize awareness-raising sessions on the importance of involving these operators in the development program of the pharmaceutical production sector,” the statement added.
