Industry Minister at Berrahal Industrial Zone: “Remove obstacles to investment, favor projects in agri-food, steel industries”

ALGIERS- On a working visit to the wilaya of Annaba, the Minister of Industry and Pharmaceutical Production, Ali Aoun, inspected, Thursday morning, the project to extend the industrial zone of Berrahal, about 33 kilometers away from the capital of the city.
Extending over 367 hectares, this area is able to accommodate up to 250 investments if the plot, proposed by the design office, is approved by the public authorities.
The wilaya’s director of industry presented the relevant details of the project to the supervising minister, including the connection to the electricity grid and the servicing of 17 hectares. He also mentioned some remaining constraints.
In this vein, the official highlighted the site’s potential to attract investors and thereby increase the number of companies providing jobs, from 1,400 to up to 5,000.
This important industrial area is expected to host large-scale projects, with the prospect of generating substantial financial gains for the local community. It remained fallow because, among other things, of a problem with its legal status.
Attentive to the presentation, Ali Aoun urged local officials to remove all obstacles to investment. “Making it easier for investors is our goal,” he insisted.
He recommended particularly favoring projects in the agri-food and steel industries.
