International Relations Expert: Moroccan King’s Speech Signals a State of Maximum Emergency

The expert remarked on the King’s apparent anxiety regarding the future, particularly given his failure to address pressing economic and social issues during his address. This omission raises concerns about potential social unrest against the ruling regime. Dr. Aradj pointed out that the European court decisions are likely to negatively impact Morocco’s revenue, exacerbating the difficulty of meeting citizens’ basic needs.

Regarding the future of the Western Sahara issue, Dr. Aradj lamented the absence of clear answers from the King about the fate of the territory, indicating a lack of strategic vision moving forward. While the King attempted to portray the Moroccan narrative as a legitimate legal option, the expert noted that the ambiguity surrounding this critical matter only deepens the uncertainty.

In conclusion, Dr. Aradj affirmed that the resistance of the Sahrawi people, anchored in the principles of international law, strengthens their case and increases their chances of achieving the right to self-determination.
