ALGIERS- President of the Republic Abdelmadjid Tebboune affirmed, Monday, that protecting purchasing power, preserving jobs and ensuring social care will remain among the priorities to which the State attaches a special importance and for which it will mobilize the necessary financial resources.
In a message to the Algerian workers on the occasion of the International Workers’ Day (1 May), President Tebboune underlined that “protecting purchasing power, preserving jobs and ensuring social care will remain among the priorities to which the we attach a special importance and for which we will work to mobilize the necessary financial resources, notably for the middle-class, people with limited income and disadvantaged groups.”
In this respect, President Tebboune reiterated the State’s determination “to continue listening to the main concerns of the workers for efficient approaches to strengthen the achievements made in the recent years, out of loyalty to my commitment to protecting the workers’ rights and preserving their socio-professional gains.”
In his message, President Tebboune expressed his conviction about the importance of the human element which constitutes the basis of sustainable development and the creation of wealth.
Similarly, President Tebboune pointed to the gradual increase in the guaranteed national minimum wage, the increase in retirement pensions and the unemployment allowances, the total overhaul of the global income tax scale (IRG) and the tenure of contract workers to improve workers’ conditions.
The President of the Republic also addressed the institutionalization of leave to allow workers to create their own businesses.
He also expressed his recognition and gratitude to the Algerians who have contributed to the advancement of Algeria and the well-being of citizens.
