ALGIERS- In a statement to the press during the national forum on the digital transformation of the sector, the Minister Abdelhakim Belabed revealed that two agreements had been signed with Algerie Telecom as part of the forum. These agreements aim to significantly reduce the costs of internet connectivity in all educational institutions across the country. Additionally, the second agreement targets reducing internet access costs for staff in the national education sector.

Regarding the digitization process of the education sector, the minister stated that the interim evaluation of the digital transformation is being conducted involving all stakeholders, including partners, unions, and parents’ associations. “Today, we have listed the remaining operations that need to be completed by next June,” he added.

The Minister responsible for national education estimated that “the digitization of the sector has eased tensions, granted everyone their due rights, and enabled work to be conducted transparently.”

This initiative underscores the government’s commitment to enhancing digital access and affordability, particularly within the education sector, aiming to ensure equitable access to information and resources for educational staff. Through these agreements, Algerie Telecom is set to play a crucial role in facilitating connectivity for educational institutions and personnel, thereby supporting the integration of digital technologies in the education sector.
