Italian Interior Minister to Visit Algeria Soon, Strengthening Bilateral Security Partnership

ALGIERS- Yesterday, the Ambassador of Italy to Algeria held a meeting with Algerian Interior Minister Brahim Merad. During this meeting, the imminent visit of the Italian Interior Minister, Piantedosi, to Algiers was announced. According to a statement from the Italian diplomatic representation in Algeria, the main topics of bilateral partnership in the security domain were also discussed in preparation for Minister Piantedosi’s upcoming visit to Algiers.
Furthermore, the Ambassador also met with Algerian Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ahmed Attaf, during a farewell visit. This meeting holds particular importance in strengthening the close friendship between Italy and Algeria. The Ambassador highlighted the excellence of the relations between the two countries and the strategic nature of the partnership, also from a regional perspective.
Today, Wednesday, President Abdelmadjid Tebboune also received the Ambassador of the Italian Republic to Algeria, Giovanni Pugliese. The meeting took place as a farewell visit by Ambassador Pugliese following the completion of his diplomatic mission.
According to a statement from the Presidency, the reception was attended by the Director of the Presidential Cabinet, Boualem Boualem.
During the meeting, President Tebboune expressed appreciation for Ambassador Pugliese’s efforts in strengthening the bilateral relations between Algeria and Italy during his tenure. The two diplomats discussed the various aspects of the Algerian-Italian partnership, which encompasses diplomatic, economic, and cultural cooperation.
Ambassador Pugliese conveyed his gratitude for the warm reception and support he received during his mission in Algeria. He highlighted the importance of the longstanding ties between the two countries and the potential for further collaboration in various fields.
