ALGIERS- Italian Minister of Environment and Energy Security, Gilberto Beccito Frattin, has praised the quality of Algerian-Italian relations, emphasizing that Algeria is a “privileged” partner for Italy, particularly in the energy sector.
Speaking during the opening of the 26th edition of the International Green and Circular Economy Exhibition, “Ecomondo,” held in the Italian city of Rimini, the Italian minister highlighted that “relations with Algeria are excellent, both as a government and as a country, and as a gas supplier.”
In this context, he underscored Italy’s full commitment to implementing the “Mettei” support plan for economic cooperation with North African countries, noting that strengthening cooperation with Algeria is one of its main priorities since Algeria is “one of the most important partners for Italy.”
It’s worth noting that the “Ecomondo” Exhibition, which opened on Tuesday under the theme “Ecological Transition Systems,” involves the participation of seven Algerian organizations and institutions actively engaged in renewable energy and recycling. Among them are the National Waste Agency and the Center for the Development of Renewable Energies (CDER).
The Algerian delegation will take part in business-to-business (B2B) meetings with their Italian and international counterparts, fostering further collaboration in the green and circular economy fields. This event marks another step forward in the strong partnership between Algeria and Italy in the realm of sustainable and eco-friendly practices.
