ALGIERS- In a significant development, the renowned Italian motorcycle manufacturer Piaggio is contemplating establishing a presence in Algeria. The Minister of Industry, Mr. Ali Aoun, welcomed a delegation from Piaggio, accompanied by Mr. Antonion Boliti, the counselor of the Italian ambassador to Algeria, during a meeting held in Algiers on Monday.
During the meeting, Minister Aoun emphasized the potential for executing several projects in Algeria that involve the production of motorcycles and utility vehicles. He expressed a keen interest in fostering partnerships with local enterprises to realize these projects, as outlined in the official statement from the Ministry.
The Italian delegation’s visit indicates a strategic exploration of Algeria’s market and underscores the nation’s attractiveness for international investors. Minister Aoun’s emphasis on collaboration with local companies signals a commitment to leveraging the strengths of both international expertise and domestic capabilities.
As discussions progress, the potential entry of Piaggio into the Algerian market holds promise not only for the motorcycle industry but also for the broader automotive sector.
