ALGIERS- Fathallah Arsalane, a member of the Guidance Council of Morocco’s Justice and Charity Movement, stated that the protests in Morocco in support of the Palestinian cause underscore the enduring stance of the Moroccan people historically. He emphasized that Moroccans consider the Palestinian issue as fundamental and central, viewing it as the mother of all causes.
Speaking in an interview with the movement’s channel, Arsalane remarked that Moroccans took to the streets since the first night in solidarity with and support for Palestinian resistance. This solidarity has extended across all cities in Morocco throughout the weeks of the conflict.
Arsalane added, “Almost daily, there are marches, stands, and events supporting the Palestinian people and their resistance. In many instances, marches and protests occur simultaneously in dozens of cities and more than 150 demonstrations across Morocco. This has been the norm for Moroccans during this period.”
He noted that these gatherings raised strong and numerous slogans against normalization, considering it a crime. They called for seizing the opportunity to retract from this disgraceful act and urged the government to dissolve all agreements with the enemy.
Arsalane criticized the delay in the official response to these popular protests by the Moroccan authorities, highlighting the people’s reaffirmation of their clear stance on the Palestinian issue and the Zionist enemy. He expressed hope that the Moroccan government would reconsider its position, taking into account the voice of the people and aligning with their sentiments.
Furthermore, Arsalane revealed his surprise at the committee’s prevention, which submitted a petition to the Prime Minister’s office calling for the repeal of normalization, from presenting the petition. He considered this stance a negative message and urged a reconsideration, emphasizing that the authorities should respect the voice of the Moroccan people and align with their sentiments.
