ALGIERS– Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Murat Nurtleu, held a meeting with Minister of Foreign Affairs and National Community Abroad of the People’s Democratic Republic of Algeria, Ahmed Attaf, on the sidelines of the extraordinary session of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Council of Ministers in Jeddah.
The discussions focused on enhancing bilateral cooperation between the two nations, as reported by the Kazinform News Agency citing the press service of the Kazakh Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
During the meeting, both sides exchanged views on various aspects of bilateral relations, emphasizing the potential for collaboration across diverse fields and the importance of interaction within international organizations.
Minister Nurtleu highlighted the considerable potential for expanding trade, economic, and investment ties between Kazakhstan and Algeria. Recognizing this potential, the officials underscored the significance of establishing an Intergovernmental Commission to facilitate cooperation and address mutual interests effectively.
Moreover, the parties emphasized the strategic importance of leveraging the “Middle Corridor” initiative to address transport and logistics challenges, aiming to bolster connectivity and trade facilitation between the two countries. Enhancing cooperation between business communities was also emphasized as a key aspect of strengthening economic ties.
The meeting between Deputy Prime Minister Murat Nurtleu and Minister Ahmed Attaf reflects the shared commitment of Kazakhstan and Algeria to deepen bilateral cooperation and explore new avenues for partnership, aligning with their respective national development agendas and regional integration efforts.
