The Minister of Foreign Affairs and the National Community Abroad, Ramtane Lamamra met, Wednesday in Algiers, with his Portuguese counterpart, Joao Gomes Gravinho, with whom he reviewed the different aspects of Algerian-Portuguese relations and ways to strengthen them in several areas, says a statement from the ministry.
The two heads of diplomacy had face-to-face meetings followed by an extended working session which made it possible to examine “the different aspects of relations between the two countries and the ways and means of strengthening them in several areas”.
The two parties undertook during this working session, held in the presence of the Algerian and Portuguese delegations, to “continue the work, within the framework of the Treaty of Friendship, Cooperation and Good Neighborliness signed by the two countries in 2005, in order to support the positive dynamics marking the Algerian-Portuguese partnership”.
“A partnership which enjoys special attention and constant monitoring by the President of the Republic, Mr. Abdelmadjid Tebboune, as well as by his Portuguese counterpart, Mr. Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa”, underlines the same source.
