ALGIERS- In a resolute move that underscores Libya’s commitment to its principles, the national unity government has announced the suspension of Foreign Minister Najla Al-Mangoush. The decision, endorsed by Head of Government Abdel Hamid Dbeibah, signals the government’s dedication to upholding the nation’s values and rejecting any attempts at normalization with the Zionist entity. This pivotal development comes amidst widespread demonstrations across Libyan cities, reflecting the people’s unwavering stance against compromise.

Sunday evening’s official statement not only disclosed the suspension of Minister Al-Mangoush but also revealed her initiation of an administrative investigation led by a commission chaired by the Minister of Justice. This transparent course of action exemplifies the government’s commitment to accountability and fair assessment, maintaining the integrity of the investigation process.

The suspension follows the revelation of a controversial meeting between the head of Libyan diplomacy and the foreign minister of the Zionist entity, as reported by official Zionist media. This revelation sparked an immediate surge of public dissent, as spontaneous protests erupted in Tripoli and its suburbs. Demonstrators fervently rejected any normalization with the Zionist entity, rallying around the Palestinian cause as a testament to their allegiance to shared values.

The protests quickly transcended geographical boundaries, spreading to various cities across Libya. In a powerful display of unity, impassioned youth took to the streets, blocking roads, igniting tire fires, and proudly brandishing the Palestinian flag. The heart of Tripoli witnessed an overwhelming presence of protesters, with one group even making its way to the Foreign Ministry. The demands for Minister Al-Mangoush’s resignation reverberated through the streets as video footage circulated on social media, capturing the fervor of the moment.

Downtown Tripoli became a focal point of the demonstrations, a space where the people’s voice resonated the loudest. As vehicles passed by, honks of support provided an encouraging backdrop to the ongoing protests. In a potent display of conviction, protesters sought to breach the ministry compound, emblematically waving Palestinian flags that symbolized their solidarity with the cause.

Libya’s resolute stand against normalization and its dedication to Palestinian rights have united its citizens in an unprecedented way. The suspension of Minister Al-Mangoush underscores the nation’s commitment to preserving its core values, even in the face of controversial diplomatic interactions. The widespread protests are a testament to the Libyan people’s unwavering allegiance to the Palestinian cause and their determination to safeguard their principles against any compromise.
