ALGIERS–   Based on President of the Republic, Mr. Abdelmadjid Tebboune’s vision to focus on economic issues, making his tenure an economic era par excellence, the Madar Holding group has embarked on a very ambitious program to boost investments with the aim of achieving economic recovery and installing genuine long-term economic stability and prosperity.

Welcoming the diversification of the economy, lifting the dependence on hydrocarbon export, and the emergence of start-ups, the Madar Holding, under the leadership of its CEO Charef Eddine Amara, exerts huge efforts to crown the orientations of New Algeria with success with the aim of establishing sustainable development and a healthy business climate, being a gate to prosperity and sustainable growth.

Mr. Amara, a prominent businessman, believes that the new incentives and the updating of the legal framework for investments offer promising prospects in Algeria, resulting in a booming investment climate.

He vowed to combine efforts and energies, under the “economic patriotism”, for the development of the national economy. His company MADAR, acronym for Management and Development of Assets and Resources. MADAR Holding / Spa is a long-standing player in the national economy which, thanks to the resources it generates, deploys and aims to be, in the medium and long term, a major player in national economic growth.

Besides, it plays an active role in accompanying social, sports and cultural events as well as emerging companies in a number of fields, in line with the economic policy of the Algerian state.

Accordingly, the group has created the sugar company TAFADIS, specializing in the refining, production and marketing of sugar. The joint-stock company Tafadis generated more than one thousand jobs as 1,200 as employees have already been recruited with Ahmed Dai as their Managing Director and Chairman of the company’s Board of Directors.

The CEO of the Madar Holding Charef Eddine Amara clarified that the name chosen for the new subsidiary is not fortuitous. It comes from the word “afdhess” which means to crush, grind, pulverize…. using a hammer.

The startup capital of the new company is 10 billion dinars and its headquarters is located in Larbaatache, in the province of Boumerdes.

Last January, the Minister of Industry, Ahmed Zeghdar, indicated that the effective entry into production of this project “will allow Algeria to devote its self-sufficiency in sugar, before proceeding to export surplus production in this area”.

Zeghdar had also affirmed that the Madar Group carried out “conclusive experiments” in the great South to supply this factory with raw material, thanks to the cultivation of sugar beet.

In this vein, the projected production capacity of this factory, extending over an area of 14 ha, expandable in the future, is 2,000 tons/day of different types of sugar.

It is worth mentioning that the strategic restructuring of SNTA into a holding company gave birth to seven (07) specialized subsidiaries in:

–         Agro-industry “Global Agri-Food” & “Kotama Agri-Food“,

–         Printing and packaging “Advanced Pro-Pack Print“,

–         Metallurgy and various industries “SINAATEC“,

–         Global Agrifood,

–         The non-stock financial investment “ICOSIA Capitale“,

–         The security and surveillance “EL-HAFDH“,

–         The legendary football club “Chabab Riadi de Belouizdad (CRB)“.

Furthermore, the group concluded partnerships with 06 Algerian and foreign partners, namely; the United Tobacco Company (UTC), the Algerian-Emirati Tobacco Company (STAEM), the (Tayal) textile company, the company of Algerian hotel investment (SIH), the Center Guarding and Surveillance Company (SGSC) and the Algerian Corporate Universities Group (GACU).

MADAR has asserted itself as a leading company, but also a corporate social responsibility model as it makes a concerted effort to operate in ways that enhance rather than degrade society and the environment. It helps both improve various aspects of society as well as promote a positive brand image of companies through the creation of the “INAYA Foundation ” which is a non-profit organization.  The object of this foundation relates to the development of education and science, human development and community development as well as the development of scientific and medical research in Algeria.

Aware of the complexity of national challenges as well as the imperative to open to the world and its dazzling changes, MADAR Holding, integrating ethical values and the creed of ecological responsibility, is committed to sustainable development, the creation of wealth, the introduction of innovative and sustainable solutions, and the sharing of visions and values.

With respect to its CEO since 2015, Charaf Eddine Amara, was also acclaimed, last week,  by the members of the National Union of Public Contractors (UNEP), the head of the National Council of the Union for a term of 4 years.

Mr. Amara reiterated his commitments to defend the interests of public enterprises, strengthen the protection of directors in the exercise of the missions entrusted to them, implement the public development policies with a view to serving the national economy, dubbing the UNEP as “an effective tool for enshrining the social and economic policy of the State “.
