The captain of the national team, Riyad Mahrez, sent a message to his companions before facing Côte d’Ivoire in the third round of the first round of the African Nations Cup Cameroon 2021.
“My message to the players is simple, every match we enter we play for Algeria, so we have to make a greater effort to win,” Mahrez said during his activation of a press conference today, Wednesday.
“We are not thinking about losing the match and going home, we are thinking about giving everything we have to win and qualify.”, he added.
Riyad Mahrez considered Africa as special and exceptional compared to other continents, adding that the national elements are adapting well to similar circumstances.
Regarding the inevitability of winning tomorrow and the extent to which the Greens were affected by the pressure of the match, Riad replied: “We have always shown a strong reaction in difficult times, which is what we will do tomorrow. We have always been under pressure and we know how to run it.”
The Manchester City star concluded his words, stressing the need to try more on the goal in order to double the chances of scoring goals, saying: “We must shoot more and try more to score goals and reach the goal, which is qualification.”
