Algiers – January 22, 2024- The National Organization of Algerian Sports Journalists broke its silence to dispel confusion surrounding a statement issued by the Mauritanian Football Federation. The organization clarified that the statement, which aimed to create tensions between Algerian and Mauritanian football fans, was misleading and not sourced from any Algerian media outlet, whether private or government-affiliated.

In a released statement, the Algerian Sports Journalists Organization urged various media outlets to exercise caution and not fall into the trap of desperate attempts to disrupt the excellent relations between Algeria and Mauritania, both on a governmental and public level. Simultaneously, they called on the Mauritanian brothers not to succumb to the deceptive tactics that seek to harm Algeria and undermine its reputation.

The organization emphasized its strong belief that sports encounters between Algeria and Mauritania are opportunities to enhance and strengthen the bonds of love and brotherhood between the two nations. They stated that, as usual, these events serve to deepen the friendship between the people of Algeria and Mauritania and should not be exploited by those with malicious intent.

Referring to previous attempts to incite tensions between Algerian and Ivorian fans, which proved unsuccessful, the organization condemned the latest efforts to create a new crisis between the Algerian and Mauritanian populations. They highlighted the resilience and unity demonstrated by fans of both teams during the recent match, underscoring the robust relationship between Algeria and Mauritania.

In conclusion, the organization expressed its confidence that the manipulative endeavors of those with ill intentions will continue to fail, and the strong bond between Algeria and Mauritania will prevail. The sports encounter remains a celebration of fraternity and sportsmanship, unaffected by external agendas seeking to sow discord between the two brotherly nations.
