Media: Algeria launches “Ifirkya FM”, new radio station for Africa, being voice of continent par excellence

ALGIERS–  “Ifrikya FM”, a new radio station that will broadcast its programs to all African countries, was launched on Wednesday, on the occasion of World Press Freedom Day (May 3), during a ceremony in the presence of members of the government and directors of media establishments.

The Minister of Communication, Mohamed Bouslimani, indicated that this radio station “will cover Africa-related issues in all spheres of life”.

For his part, the director of “Ifrikya FM, Mohamed Sayem affirmed that “this newborn will be the voice of Africa par excellence”. This new radio station is made up of “a staff of young journalists from different African nationalities, a network of correspondents in nine African countries, and programs broadcast in five languages, namely Arabic, French, Targui, Hausa, and Bambara,” he said.
