Meeting Between Minister Brahim Merad and Secretary-General Mohamed Ben Ali Koman Strengthens Arab Security Cooperation

ALGIERS- Today, Minister of Interior, Local Assemblies, and Urban Planning, Brahim Merad, welcomed Mohamed Ben Ali Koman, the Secretary-General of the Arab Interior Ministers Council, for consultative discussions during his visit to Algeria.
The meeting, held at the Ministry’s headquarters, focused on enhancing Arab cooperation in the fields of security, policing, and preventive measures. Both parties emphasized the integration of modern information and communication technologies into their strategies to modernize joint coordination tools, making them more efficient in addressing security challenges.
Among the crucial aspects discussed was the need to update strategies to tackle emerging security threats, particularly in areas such as cybercrime and drug trafficking. The ministers underscored the importance of staying ahead of these evolving challenges, which impact the global landscape.
Preparations for the 41st session of the Arab Interior Ministers Council, scheduled for February, were also reviewed during the high-level meeting. The diverse agenda for this session reflects the significance of regular dialogues to strengthen Arab cooperation in security matters.
