Minister Ali Aoun Clarifies Industrial Zone Allocation: AAPI Holds Sole Responsibility

ALGIERS- In a visit to Bordj Bou Arreridj province, Minister of Industry and Pharmaceutical Production Ali Aoun emphasized the strict adherence to the law governing the conditions and procedures for granting state-owned economic land for investment projects. During his visit, Aoun clarified that neither ministers nor governors have the authority to intervene in the allocation of industrial zones. Instead, he highlighted that the responsibility falls solely on the Algerian Agency for Investment Promotion (AAPI).
Addressing the audience, Minister Aoun expressed, “Neither the minister nor the governor can interfere in the distribution of industrial areas. The Algerian Agency for Investment Promotion (AAPI) is the sole entity responsible for this matter.”
Commending Bordj Bou Arreridj’s industrial capabilities, Minister Aoun stated, “Bordj Bou Arreridj is an industrial province par excellence, with a large number of industries contributing significantly, reaching 45 percent of industrial production.”
Referring to Bordj Bou Arreridj as Algeria’s “Silicon Valley,” Minister Aoun acknowledged the province’s concentration of electronic and household appliance industries.
Minister Aoun called for a collective effort among stakeholders in the province to discuss ways to develop and enhance the industrial sector. He urged, “I ask everyone to discuss what we can offer to the province so that there can be a new qualitative leap according to the directives of the President, who ordered speed in achieving for the benefit of the country’s economy and meeting the daily needs of the citizens.”
