ALGIERS- Minister of Industry and Pharmaceutical Production, Ali Aoun, convened with the leaders of the Industrial and Metallurgical Group (IMETAL) to assess the current state of public industrial groups, according to a statement released by the ministry on Monday.
During the meeting, which focused on presenting the 2024 action plan for each subsidiary and addressing challenges hindering their activities, Minister Aoun listened to explanations and presentations from the CEOs of IMETAL’s subsidiaries.
The minister provided crucial instructions, emphasizing the necessity of coordination among the group’s subsidiaries and aligning with developments across various domains to revitalize the sector. He stressed “the need to adopt performance contracts to achieve set objectives.”
Additionally, Minister Aoun issued directives regarding the importance of adhering to project delivery timelines, placing a greater focus on efficiency rates, reducing costs, working with rationality, and avoiding wasteful practices, particularly within specific subsidiaries. He urged vigilant monitoring of developments in various fields.
Aoun reassured that his ministry is dedicated to supporting all public industrial groups, striving to address challenges promptly within the framework of the law. The objective is to make 2024 an outstanding industrial year, thereby enhancing the national economy in line with the directives of President Abdelmadjid Tebboune.
