ALGIERS- During a working and inspection visit to the Djelfa province, Minister of Industry and Pharmaceutical Production, Mr. Ali Aoun, stated on Tuesday evening that 2024 would be the year for evaluating management skills and competencies.

Aoun emphasized the need to double efforts to revitalize public sector economic enterprises and materialize development and investment projects outlined by the government.

The Industry Minister also addressed certain challenges related to the management of public enterprises, highlighting issues with management and leadership.

58 Final Operating Permits Granted

Expanding on his remarks, Mr. Aoun provided clarifications regarding the procedures for reclaiming unused economic land in the province. He underscored that the recovered land would be allocated to small and medium-sized enterprises and for the realization of major investment projects. Additionally, he instructed local officials to complete the development operations of the Aïn Oussara industrial zone to facilitate the establishment of new significant projects.

“The issue with economic enterprises lies in management and competence. Today, I am here to reaffirm the ministry’s commitment to revitalize the industry sector in the Djelfa province,” he declared.

It’s worth noting that during the first day of the visit, Mr. Aoun presided over the official ceremony for granting 58 final operating permits for investment projects located in the province.

The visit continues on Wednesday for its second consecutive day in the Djelfa province, where Minister Aoun visited the Sadr locality in the municipality of Aïn el Bell to oversee the construction project of a cement plant.

According to figures provided by the Djelfa province services, the commissioning of this significant project will create 400 direct job opportunities and 350 indirect ones.
