Minister Arkab Affirms Government’s Commitment to Youth Empowerment, Education Excellence

ALGIERS- In a ceremony recognizing winners of the national writing competition organized by Sonatrach, the Minister of Energy and Mines, Mohamed Arkab, reiterated the Algerian government’s commitment to providing essential conditions for youth to express their potential across all fields. He emphasized that education, teaching, and culture stand as top priorities in building a modern and prosperous Algeria.
Speaking at the awards ceremony for the competition, which was held in collaboration with the Ministry of National Education, Minister Arkab stated that Sonatrach, as a key player in national development, is dedicated to supporting economic and social development. He emphasized the company’s broad commitment to various sectors, especially education and culture.
Arkab explained that Sonatrach actively participates in projects, such as the digital school initiative launched by the Ministry of National Education. The company also supports school transportation and enhances efforts by public authorities to improve the conditions for students.
Regarding Sonatrach’s commemoration of its 60th anniversary, Minister Arkab noted that the celebration aligns with the company’s commitment as a civic institution. The events, including intellectual competitions and national writing contests, are part of Sonatrach’s social activities. These initiatives aim to support Algerian schools and encourage national talent in areas related to energy, environmental protection, and other fields.
Following initial evaluations by the Ministry of National Education and a final assessment by the National Committee for the Writing Competition, 60 written works were selected, symbolizing the celebration of Sonatrach’s 60th anniversary. Minister Arkab affirmed that such events contribute to the company’s role as a socially responsible entity, accompanying Algerian schools and promoting talent across various domains.
