Algiers, Algeria | September 29th, 2024 — The Minister of Housing, Urban Planning, and the City, Mohamed Tarel Belaribi, chaired an evaluation meeting on Sunday to discuss the necessary actions for securing land for the ambitious program of 2 million housing units, as mandated by the President of the Republic.
As part of the preparation for the five-year program spanning from 2024 to 2029, which aims to deliver these 2 million housing units, the meeting focused on strategies to provide adequate land for all housing schemes, including the highly anticipated AADL 3 formula. This important session gathered housing directors from 12 provinces to align on these objectives and ensure effective collaboration.
During the meeting, Minister Belaribi stressed the need to proactively prepare documentation for property ownership contracts in accordance with the allocations outlined in the annual finance laws, particularly the finance law for 2025. This proactive approach aims to streamline the distribution process and facilitate timely access to housing for the public.
In addition, he announced that a significant portion of the housing units will be distributed on November 1st across various regions of the country, marking a crucial step toward addressing the growing housing demands of the population.
Minister Belaribi expressed his gratitude to all sector officials for their substantial efforts, which have resulted in the distribution of 1.7 million housing units by the end of the year. He also reminded them of the significant challenge ahead in fulfilling the President’s commitment to delivering 2 million housing units, underscoring the importance of continued dedication and collaboration in this essential sector.
