Algeria, May 4, 2024 – The Minister of Housing, Mr. Mohamed Tarek Belaribi, conducted an impromptu nocturnal visit on Friday evening to the construction site of the new Douera Stadium in Algiers.
According to a statement from the ministry, Mr. Belaribi first inspected the progress of the construction of the control center, consisting of 05 floors. “The progress rate of the work at this point exceeds 90%. The minister instructed the site officials to finalize the operations for connecting to the energy networks and to complete the installation of cables to close the roof,” the statement explained.
Continuing his tour of the site, Mr. Belaribi inspected the stadium’s basement, where work is nearly complete: “The minister also inspected the future FIFA hall, the locker rooms, and the conference hall, where he received explanations regarding the construction processes. The minister gave firm instructions to complete the work as soon as possible and to equip these compartments of the stadium with necessary means meeting international standards,” the same source added.
Finally, the Minister of Housing inspected the construction of an interchange at the main entrance of the stadium, where significant progress has been made. The same official ordered the installation of a giant screen on the main façade of the stadium: “The minister also insisted on continuing the work at the same pace and with the 8×3 system,” our ministry’s statement specifies, noting that the number of workers currently involved in this project exceeds 800.
