Minister Laaziz Faid Highlights Government’s Focus on Addressing Observations on 2025 Finance Bill

Algiers, Algeria | November 13th, 2024 — Following the plenary session of the People’s National Assembly (APN) on Wednesday, Finance Minister Laaziz Faid reaffirmed the government’s commitment to carefully considering all feedback provided by parliament members during the voting process of the 2025 Finance Bill.
Minister Faid highlighted that the discussions surrounding the bill focused on several vital areas, including measures aimed at supporting purchasing power, improving macroeconomic indicators, managing public finances, securing investment financing, advancing local development, safeguarding national assets, promoting digital transformation in the financial sector, and enhancing banking transactions. He emphasized that the government’s primary objective is to foster both economic and social development, with particular attention to diversifying the economy and initiating large-scale infrastructure projects.
The minister further noted that the debate offered a thorough presentation of the key goals outlined in the finance bill, particularly the continued efforts by public authorities to mobilize additional resources for economic and social advancement. These initiatives are geared toward stimulating economic diversification, supporting major infrastructure projects, advancing the energy transition, managing public debt, and tackling urgent issues such as water scarcity and infrastructure deficits.
The bill, which was adopted under the leadership of Brahim Boughali, Speaker of the APN, marks a significant step toward realizing the government’s long-term economic vision. The adoption of the 2025 Finance Bill comes at a crucial moment, reinforcing the ongoing efforts to bolster Algeria’s financial stability and ensure sustainable economic growth.
