 Minister Mohamed Arkab, Sonatrach CEO Rachid Hachichi Conduct Strategic Energy Inspection in Ghardaïa, Laghouat, and El Menia

ALGIERS- Minister of Energy and Mines, Mohamed Arkab, accompanied by Rachid Hachichi, the CEO of the national oil and gas company Sonatrach, commenced a comprehensive work and inspection visit to the provinces of Ghardaïa, Laghouat, and El Menia.

The minister, along with officials from the ministry, Sonelgaz CEO, and sector executives, inaugurated a high-voltage substation of 60/30 KVA in Metlili. Subsequently, they visited the drilling site of Sonatrach’s “ENF 56” project in the Noumerate area, near Ghardaïa.

Impressed by the expertise showcased in horizontal and vertical drilling technologies, Minister Arkab announced plans for Sonatrach’s subsidiary, ENAFOR, to drill nine water wells in Tindouf, aligning with President Abdelmadjid Tebboune’s directives.

The ministerial delegation also oversaw the gas network connection for 90 subscribers in the Ksar Tafilelt extension (Ben Izguen) and visited Sonatrach’s medical-social center in Sidi Abaz.

Concluding the Ghardaïa visit, Minister Arkab inspected Sonelgaz’s technical training school in Bouhraoua. The facility, equipped with a pedagogical capacity of 250 places, focuses on various specialties in electric energy, conventional energy, renewable energy, and gas.

In Laghouat, Minister Arkab initiated the visit by inspecting gas production stations 1 and 2 in Hassi R’mel, receiving comprehensive briefings on their status. He then proceeded to inspect the Boosting station and learn about the second phase of the project.

The visit concluded with the inauguration of Sonatrach’s medical center in Hassi R’mel, underscoring the commitment to advancing healthcare facilities in tandem with energy infrastructure development.
