ALGIERS- Minister of Labor Mr. Fayçal Bentaleb, today, in a ceremony held in Algiers, officiated the launch of the new digital health insurance card, ‘E-Chifa.’
During his address, Mr. Bentaleb emphasized that this new initiative is part of the ministry’s efforts towards modernizing and digitizing healthcare services. He highlighted that the primary target for this new card is university students due to its digital features. The digital version of the Chifa card, known as ‘E-Chifa,’ can be downloaded through the mobile application and the CNAS digital platform ‘EL HANAA,’ following beneficiary data verification.
Mr. Bentaleb outlined the numerous benefits of the new card, including the elimination of updates required for the old card. Updates for the E-Chifa card will be managed through a mobile application, ensuring compliance with personal data protection legislation.
Furthermore, the implementation of this new version will facilitate quick access to services for insured individuals, contributing to the realization of social justice principles among citizens.
It’s worth mentioning that the launch of this new version of the Chifa card will commence as an experimental phase in five provinces starting today. Residents of Algiers, Boumerdès, Mostaganem, Jijel, Sétif, and Ouargla will have the opportunity to download this new version via the CNAS EL HANAA platform. This initial phase will pave the way for the nationwide rollout of the E-Chifa digital health insurance card, marking a significant step towards enhancing healthcare accessibility and efficiency in Algeria.
