Algiers, Algeria | January 22nd, 2025 — In a move reflecting his commitment to overseeing Algeria’s industrial and pharmaceutical production projects, Minister of Industry and Pharmaceutical Production Sifi Gharib conducted a surprise visit on Tuesday, January 21, 2025, to the site of the new Exhibition Palace project. This critical venture is entrusted to the public economic enterprise for prefabricated construction, SNC METAL (formerly “Batimetal”), a subsidiary of the National Iron Industry Company (SNS).
The minister’s unexpected inspection aimed to assess the progress of the project, which is expected to play a vital role in enhancing Algeria’s industrial and economic infrastructure.
Spanning an expansive area of 45,000 square meters, the first phase of the project includes several key components: the first exhibition hall for large-scale showcases, a forum hall designed for dynamic interactions and discussions, a state-of-the-art conference complex with a seating capacity of 500 attendees, and a modern meeting room accommodating up to 200 participants. During his visit, Minister Gharib conducted a meticulous review of these facilities, paying close attention to the adherence to deadlines, compliance with international standards, and quality benchmarks established for the project.
This visit underscores Minister Gharib’s proactive approach to ensuring that strategic projects are executed with precision and efficacy. By engaging in direct field inspections, he reinforces accountability among stakeholders and ensures that all entities involved align with the overarching goal of driving Algeria’s industrial growth. Minister Gharib emphasized that these projects are not merely infrastructural undertakings but are critical investments in Algeria’s future economic and industrial advancement. He reaffirmed his ministry’s resolve to uphold excellence, stating: “The execution of such projects must meet the highest standards of quality and timeliness. It is our responsibility to guarantee that each endeavor contributes to Algeria’s vision for a robust and competitive industrial sector.”
As the minister concluded his visit, he called upon SNC METAL and its parent company, SNS, to maintain their rigorous efforts in achieving the project’s ambitious objectives. He reiterated the ministry’s unwavering commitment to maintaining a hands-on approach in supervising Algeria’s strategic developments, ensuring that they serve as catalysts for the nation’s industrial transformation.
