Minister Tabi Highlights President Tebboune’s Priorities for Justice Reform on Supreme Court’s 60th Anniversary

ALGIERS- On the occasion of the 60th anniversary of the establishment of the Supreme Court, Minister of Justice and Keeper of the Seals, Abderrachid Tabi, emphasized on Saturday that “comprehensive reform and modernization of the Justice system, as well as the establishment of digital Justice, are among the main priorities of President Abdelmadjid Tebboune.”
Speaking at the International Conference Center (CIC) in Algiers, Tabi elaborated that President Tebboune’s focus is to “equip Justice with all the necessary frameworks to address the challenges of today’s rapidly changing and complex world.”
The Minister underscored that this priority entails judges listening to citizens’ concerns, ensuring their legal security, resolving disputes within reasonable timeframes, guaranteeing their right to a fair trial and equity, as well as promoting social tranquility and professionally handling emerging cases characterized by their variety and complexity.
Remarkable Advances in Digital Transformation
Tabi also highlighted that the justice sector “has made significant progress in terms of the digital transformation of the entire integrated legal system,” which has “simplified judicial and administrative procedures for litigants and legal professionals alike.”
“This focus has led to a revision of the legal system in conjunction with other reforms to align them with the 2020 Constitution and relevant international mechanisms,” he added.
Furthermore, the Minister of Justice stated that “e-Justice is a crucial step in digital Justice that requires concerted efforts to keep pace with the rapid evolution of digital Justice worldwide and enhance judicial work.”
He also affirmed that the Justice reform program adopted by the state has strengthened judicial structures to bring Justice closer to citizens, establish specialized courts, increase the number of judges and officials, and prioritize training.
Tabi concluded by emphasizing that the Algerian Justice system is committed to ensuring justice, fairness, and efficiency for all citizens, in line with President Tebboune’s vision to modernize and enhance the justice sector in Algeria.
