ALGIERS- Minister Tarek Belaribi, the Minister of Housing, Urban Planning, and the City, embarked on a field visit to the Urban Hub 6500 Housing Units “Haouch el rih” on Monday, March 18, 2024. The purpose of the visit was to assess the ongoing developments and infrastructure projects at the site.
The visit commenced with an inspection of the completion of a towering flagpole measuring 62 meters in length, erected at the main entrance of the urban hub, proudly displaying the Algerian flag over an area of 220 square meters. Minister Belaribi emphasized the importance of replicating this commendable initiative in urban hubs nationwide whenever the opportunity arises, especially as Algeria approaches the 70th anniversary of the glorious revolution.
Furthermore, coordination will be established with local authorities, led by the Wali of Blida Province, to give the Urban Hub 6500 Housing Units a name with historical significance.
Subsequently, Minister Belaribi inspected various public infrastructure projects at the site, including the Urban Security Center, which has reached 65% completion, and primary and secondary schools, with completion rates of 75% and 55% respectively. Additionally, progress was noted on the construction of the school complex, currently at 15%, and a secondary school with a completion rate of 10%.
In conclusion, Minister Belaribi inspected the progress of the multi-service clinic, which has reached 65% completion. He urged construction entities to maintain the same pace of work and increase the number of workers while instructing the Director-General of Public Facilities to settle their financial dues promptly. Additionally, he ordered the commencement of another medium-sized project in the coming days.
On another note, Minister Belaribi inspected the installation of flooring and external landscaping works. The “AADL” Agency has initiated the asphalt paving of certain roads and the construction of supporting walls, with Minister Belaribi directing the agency to expedite the landscaping works to meet deadlines.
