ALGIERS- During the economic conference organized by the Algerian Council for Economic Renewal (CREA), Minister of Trade and Export Promotion, Tayeb Zitouni, announced the opening of 477 local markets across Algeria in celebration of the holy month of Ramadan. These markets saw the active participation of 8,402 economic operators.
The initiative, aimed at facilitating access to essential goods during Ramadan, underscores the government’s commitment to supporting local economies and providing affordable options for consumers. Minister Zitouni emphasized the significance of this effort, particularly in light of reducing intermediary costs and ensuring fair prices for Algerian consumers.
Addressing attendees at the conference, Minister Zitouni called upon all economic operators to join hands in this endeavor, highlighting the importance of strong participation in local markets. He stressed that increased engagement in these markets would not only benefit consumers but also contribute to the growth and sustainability of the Algerian economy.
Furthermore, Minister Zitouni urged Algerian consumers to take advantage of the opportunity to purchase products at unbeatable prices, thanks to the direct access provided by the reduction in intermediaries. This initiative aligns with the government’s broader efforts to promote economic development, enhance market accessibility, and foster a conducive environment for entrepreneurship and trade.
