ALGIERS- In an exclusive interview with Dzair Tube, Moroccan political analyst Badr Laidoudi delves into shocking revelations regarding the Makhzen’s policy and its impact on various regions, shedding light on socio-economic disparities and political intricacies.

Laidoudi highlights the Makhzen’s tendency to marginalize regions deemed unimportant or lacking strategic significance. This policy, he argues, has resulted in a significant societal divide within the country.

In this vein, the political analyst draws attention to the substantial disparities that surfaced prominently during the aftermath of the Al Hoceima earthquake. Residents of the marginalized Al Hoceima region continue to endure neglect, experiencing deficiencies in both infrastructure and road connectivity.

Despite the passage of time since the earthquake catastrophe, the people of Al Hoceima still grapple with the persistent effects of marginalization. The lacking infrastructure and road connectivity further contribute to their ongoing struggles.

Political Influence of the Al Mada Holding:

Laidoudi unveils the formation and evolution of the royal-owned “Al Mada Holding,” created with the aim of exerting control over the western region’s economy. Established during the reign of King Hassan II, the holding company has undergone significant transformations, accumulating immense political and intelligence influence, especially during King Mohammed VI’s era.

Control Over Strategic Projects and Public Funds:

The holding company, according to Laidoudi, exercises control over crucial strategic projects, including dams and essential infrastructure. Moreover, he contends that it influences the allocation of public funds, diverting them towards projects that benefit its interests.

Laidoudi exposes how the Al Mada Holding manipulates pension funds, diverting public money to advance its own projects. This strategic maneuvering raises questions about transparency and fair allocation of resources.
