Moroccan Protest Movement Gains Momentum with 130 Demonstrations in One Day

ALGIERS- November 20, 2023- In recent days, the intensity of popular protests in Morocco has surged, condemning the brutal aggression against the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip since October 7. Demonstrators are demanding the annulment of all normalization agreements with the Israeli occupying force.
The Moroccan Authority for Supporting the Causes of the Nation, in a recent statement, reported over 130 protest events in 63 Moroccan cities on the evening of November 17, following Friday prayers. Participants expressed outrage over the Zionist military’s targeting of hospitals in Gaza, endangering the lives of the wounded and children, calling on the Moroccan government to revoke normalization agreements with the Zionist occupation.
Protesters, rallying under the banner of the sixth “Friday of Anger” declared by the authority, displayed banners and expressions of solidarity with the victims of the heinous Zionist aggression on the Gaza Strip. They vowed to continue protesting in Moroccan streets until the Zionist aggression ceases and the Zionist communication office in Rabat is closed.
Moroccan cities have witnessed fervent and ongoing demonstrations since October 7, resulting in a significant setback for the Zionist trend that passionately defended normalization with the occupying entity under the pretext of “defending the Palestinian cause.” The protests have dispelled any doubt that normalization has given the green light for the occupation authorities to escalate their violations against the Palestinian people.
Anti-normalization activists in Morocco have intensified their efforts to eradicate normalization through protest marches, intellectual seminars, and awareness campaigns. The goal is to enlighten the Moroccan public about the dangers of normalization on the kingdom’s future, given the Zionist infiltration into various sectors, including sovereignty.
Ahmed Weihman, the head of the Moroccan Observatory Against Normalization, has exposed how the Zionist intelligence agency, Mossad, infiltrates Morocco and propagates “myths.” Weihman reiterated that those engaging in normalization are “partners in the crimes committed by the Zionist occupation forces, police, and settlers against the Palestinian people.” He called on Morocco to cancel all agreements of disgrace, expel the representative of the Zionist entity, and emphasized that “normalization with the Zionists is a betrayal to the Moroccan people before the Palestinian people.”
The Moroccan populace, along with its vibrant entities, vehemently rejects normalization, actively engaging in the struggle for the liberation of Palestine, emphasizing that the Palestinian cause is a national issue. They affirm that normalization with the Zionists constitutes betrayal to the Moroccan people before the Palestinian people.
