ALGIERS- In the wake of an official invitation extended by King Mohammed VI of Morocco to the Prime Minister of the Zionist entity, Benyamin Netanyahu, Moroccans are mobilizing strongly to prevent what they view as a defilement of their country. Maghreb’s Civil society organizations have initiated a campaign under the slogan “No welcome to the visit of the war criminal, treason is the greatest danger, not a point of view, but the destruction of the homeland,” expressing their indignation and categorical rejection of the upcoming visit.
Thousands of Moroccans, who vehemently reject normalization in all its forms, have joined the campaign through social media, denouncing Netanyahu as a “war criminal” and “killer of innocents.” The visit is seen as a betrayal of the principles of solidarity with the Palestinian people and an insult to the honor of the nation.
The campaign has put forth a series of powerful slogans aimed at challenging the normalization process, which its members view as a provocation against the Moroccan people. Slogans such as “Moroccans against normalization,” “Normalization is a partnership in the crimes of the occupation,” and “No welcome to the visit of a war criminal” reflect the deeply rooted sentiments against the visit.
Ahmed Wehman, head of the Moroccan Observatory Against Normalization, expressed grave concern about the dangerous repercussions of normalization for Morocco and the region. He warned that normalization could pave the way for the expansion of the Zionist influence in Morocco and fuel internal divisions and confrontations.
The Moroccan Action Group for Palestine labeled the upcoming visit a “tragedy of normalization” and called for a reevaluation of the decision to invite Netanyahu. They emphasized that Palestine is a trust and normalization is treachery, carrying a heavy legal, moral, and diplomatic cost for the Kingdom.
Human rights activists and political figures joined the chorus of disapproval, branding Morocco’s decision to deepen normalization as “immoral.” For Abd al-Madjid Radhi, the coordinator of the Committee of Solidarity with the Palestinian People in Casablanca, normalization represents a dark moment in Morocco’s history, contradicting the country’s tradition of solidarity with the Palestinian cause.
Educational unions also voiced their rejection of any form of normalization with the “brutal entity,” emphasizing that educational normalization poses significant risks. They fear that such a move may replace the traditional pro-Palestinian stance with an ideology loyal to the Zionist entity.
As Moroccans mobilize strongly against the upcoming visit of the Zionist Prime Minister, the campaign is a powerful expression of the nation’s commitment to standing in solidarity with the Palestinian people and safeguarding its national sovereignty and values.
