Morocco: Millions Expected to March in Anti-Normalization Protests After Friday Prayer on December 22

ALGIERS- In response to the controversial official normalization agreement between Morocco and the Zionist entity signed on December 22, 2020, millions of Moroccans are set to participate in nationwide protests organized by the National Action Group for Palestine in Morocco. The demonstrations, scheduled after Friday prayer on December 22, aim to voice the Moroccan people’s rejection of normalization and call for its abolition in alignment with the historical stance of the Moroccan population.

Reliable sources informed “Dzair Tube” that the protests coincide with the commemoration of the infamous signing of the official normalization agreement, a pact that, since its enactment, has significantly impacted various aspects of Morocco’s statehood, triggering economic and sovereignty concerns.

The National Action Group for Palestine, consisting of numerous anti-normalization entities in Morocco, has urged citizens to participate in protest vigils across cities and villages. These demonstrations not only signify opposition to normalization but also serve as a collective demand for its annulment, consistent with the historical positions of the Moroccan people.

The group, in a statement, affirmed its ongoing efforts to mobilize popular support for the petition calling for the abolition of normalization. Launched on December 10 during the People’s National March organized by the group, the petition aligns with the International Human Rights Day and the three-year anniversary of the commencement of the ominous official normalization process with the Zionist entity.

Highlighting their commitment to the cause, the Moroccan organization has initiated outreach to various active Moroccan unions and influential entities to garner support for the Palestinian cause and oppose normalization. Plans for a comprehensive national strike in solidarity with the Palestinian people are underway.

The group also called for the continuation of their central weekly gatherings, traditionally held every Wednesday and Friday in front of the Moroccan Parliament. These events began following the victorious Battle of Aqsa Flood on October 7, marking a historic triumph for Palestinian resistance and a setback for the invading Zionist army. During these gatherings, participants express solidarity with the Palestinian people and call for the annulment of all normalization agreements, the closure of Zionist communication offices, and the dissolution of the Moroccan-Zionist parliamentary friendship committee.

As Moroccans prepare to take to the streets in a collective stand against normalization, the demonstrations serve as a powerful testament to the persistent resistance against a contentious agreement that has sparked widespread debate and ignited fervent opposition among the Moroccan populace.
