Morocco: The Monarch, the Two Moulays, and the People!

ALGIERS-  An equation with three unknowns: a king at the end of his reign, two competing suitors, and a people left behind.

The state of King Mohamed VI’s health is no longer in doubt. He is battling an incurable disease, but he prolongs his reign by delaying the inevitable. Unfortunately, his legacy is just as chaotic and unknown as his reign, marred by a series of large-scale corruption and espionage scandals, impoverishment for some, misery for most of his people, and gentrification to opulence for a minority, including his prime minister and head of diplomacy.

This may explain the unbridled acceleration in normalization with Zionism, which has caused a loss of credibility for Morocco and its monarch. The Machiavellian objective is to obtain the protection of this entity, which enjoys itself by making it sparkle against the Judaization of Morocco. However, this comes at the cost of inflicting shame on the “dear people” of Morocco.

What remains of the credibility of Morocco and the Muslim and moral heritage of the monarch? This page will end up being turned on the rubble of a reign that was inaugurated with great fanfare but ended in lamentable disappointment within Morocco and international opprobrium. The daring immoral drift of the monarchy has damaged the reputation of Morocco, its people, and its monarchy.

Morocco’s disregard for human principles of justice and political morality, both in internal governance and international law, has resulted in a curse befalling the nation. The reckless and stubborn pursuit of Western Sahara, which rightfully belongs to the Sahrawis, has only exacerbated the situation.

It is time to acknowledge the Sahrawis’ inalienable right to self-determination and independence. They have fought bravely and made significant sacrifices to achieve this goal. It is imperative that we leave Western Sahara to them and allow them to return to their rightful place.

The scenario inherited by King Mohammed VI is likely to repeat itself, but this time, the data has fundamentally changed. The former supporters of the Makhzenian thesis of the colonization of Western Sahara are weary and have abandoned their false propaganda. The empty coffers and explosive social and political situation, coupled with scandals of corruption and espionage targeting heads of state and European institutions, have left the plebs relegated to the carefree Makhzen.
