Morocco’s King Mohammed VI’s Double Standard: Empty Reconciliation Rhetoric Masking Aggressive Actions Towards Algeria

ALGIERS– In a recent speech on the 24th anniversary of his accession to the throne, King Mohammed VI of Morocco claimed that his country would not be a “source of evil” towards neighboring Algeria and expressed a desire to establish “strong relations with brotherly and friendly countries, especially neighboring countries.” However, these words ring hollow in the face of the Makhzen regime’s aggressive actions against Algeria, raising questions about the sincerity and true intentions behind the King’s rhetoric.

The Makhzen regime continues to play a dangerous game of deception, presenting “messages of reassurance” while engaging in a clear and open aggression against Algeria’s interests, institutions, security, and stability. Listening to the King’s speech, one could easily mistake Algeria as the aggressor responsible for severed relations and closed borders.

It is evident that the King of Morocco is either deceiving the world or completely oblivious to the actions of his own government. Can he truly claim to desire normal relations with Algeria while ignoring the acts of hostility carried out by his royal army? Reports have surfaced of the Moroccan military acquiring sophisticated espionage devices from the Zionist entity to use against Algeria, raising serious concerns about the Kingdom’s intentions.

Furthermore, the establishment of military bases with the Zionist army near the very borders the King calls to reopen with Algeria paints a conflicting picture of his stated goals. How can one claim to seek peaceful relations with a neighbor while simultaneously engaging in alliances that may undermine regional stability and security?

Adding insult to injury, the Makhzen Intelligence agency is actively waging a propaganda war against Algeria, utilizing electronic disinformation campaigns and cyberattacks to sow chaos and discord among Algerians. The use of Moroccan, Arab, and foreign YouTubers in this smear campaign further highlights the regime’s nefarious intentions.

The King’s celebration of his throne, which is controlled by the same Zionists he brought to Morocco to conspire against Algeria, casts a dark shadow on his overtures of reconciliation. Such actions raise doubts about Morocco’s true commitment to peace in the region and paint a picture of a government willing to engage in deception and manipulation for its own benefit.

It is high time for the international community to take a closer look at Morocco’s actions and question the sincerity of its calls for reconciliation. Algeria has consistently shown a willingness to engage in dialogue and maintain peaceful relations with its neighbors, but such efforts require genuine reciprocity and trust-building measures.
