ALGIERS- In a recent tweet, Moroccan journalist and opposition figure Adnane Filali shed light on the Zionist entity’s appreciation for Morocco’s neutral position amidst the unfolding tragedy in Palestine. According to Filali, the Zionist government, as reported by Haaretz, welcomes Morocco’s stance and envisions a significant role for the Moroccan monarchy in the post-war reconstruction of Gaza. While the Zionist entity sees this as a positive development, critics within Morocco express dismay, deeming it as a stain on the country’s reputation.

Haaretz, the Zionist newspaper, has revealed insights into the entity’s perspective on Morocco’s position in the ongoing war. The Netanyahu government applauds Morocco’s shameful neutrality, considering it a diplomatic asset that could play a pivotal role in shaping the aftermath of the ongoing war in Gaza.

However, the Moroccan public has expressed vehement opposition to the official stance of Morocco and the normalization of relations with the Zionist entity, standing in solidarity with the Palestinian people who face ongoing atrocities and conflict in Gaza.

Mass protests have erupted across the country, reflecting the widespread disapproval of these diplomatic moves. The groundswell of discontent stems from the Moroccan government’s decision to establish closer ties with the Zionist entity, a move that has drawn sharp criticism from citizens who view it as a betrayal of longstanding support for the Palestinian cause.

Cities and towns throughout Morocco have witnessed large-scale demonstrations, with protestors echoing their support for the Palestinian cause through chants, banners, and calls for justice. Activists argue that the normalization of relations undermines the nation’s historical stance on supporting oppressed peoples, and they demand a reversal of this diplomatic trajectory.

Civil society groups and human rights organizations within Morocco have also voiced their concerns, emphasizing the need for the government to listen to the will of the people. They argue that forging ties with the Zionist entity is contrary to the principles of justice and humanitarian values.
