In an exclusive interview with Dzair Tube, Motor 9 founder Sid Ahmed unveils a pioneering partnership with Petro Baraka, highlighting the unmatched quality of Algerian lubricants, the development of Africa’s first decarbonization machine, and a resolute trust in local manufacturing excellence.

Algiers, Algeria | April 12th, 2025 — In a significant move within Algeria’s automotive sector, Motor 9, a company specializing in engine decarbonization, has officially signed a partnership with Petro Baraka, one of the country’s leading manufacturers of high-quality motor oils. In an exclusive interview with Dzair Tube, Sid Ahmed, founder and CEO of Motor 9, described the agreement as a “natural and strategic choice,” citing the exceptional performance and protective effectiveness of Petro Baraka’s lubricants in combating engine carbon buildup.

“Petro Baraka’s engine oil has proven highly effective in maintaining engine cleanliness and preventing carbon-related complications. This partnership aligns with our mission to provide innovative, comprehensive solutions for engine maintenance,” said Sid Ahmed, who emphasized that quality engine oil is indispensable for preventing long-term engine degradation, especially after surpassing 50,000 kilometers.

Motor 9 has carved a unique niche in Algeria’s automotive landscape as a pioneer in carbon removal technology. The company’s founder, who graduated in 2005 with a degree in mechanical engineering from the National Polytechnic School of El Harrach, comes from a long family tradition in automotive mechanics. His journey took a decisive turn in 2012 when he identified a recurring pattern of carbon buildup in engines—despite adherence to manufacturer guidelines and proper oil maintenance.

“My research led me to European studies identifying ‘carbon builders’ as a core issue. That discovery pushed me to specialize in engine decarbonization,” he said. In 2014, Motor 9 began importing top-tier decarbonization solutions from Europe. Today, the company is developing 100% Algerian-made machinery, including a state-of-the-art decarbonization device that Sid Ahmed proudly asserts is the first of its kind in Africa and the Arab world.

Motor 9 is also the exclusive Algerian representative of cutting-edge products such as Le Super Catalyseur, a solution that neutralizes carbon emissions caused by oil combustion in the engine’s combustion chamber. However, Sid Ahmed maintains that tools and technology alone are insufficient without the support of high-performance lubricants.

“We tested several oils, but none matched the consistency and quality of Petro Baraka. Their product is engineered to meet European standards, and I personally verified its formulation and production process. I trust Petro Baraka more than many foreign brands, especially considering the influx of counterfeit oils in the local and regional markets,” he stated.

In his view, international brands often reserve their best-quality lubricants for developed markets, while the African market is left with diluted variants. “It makes no sense to bypass Petro Baraka’s locally manufactured, EU-compliant oils in favor of lower-grade foreign alternatives,” he argued.

Beyond quality, affordability remains a cornerstone of this collaboration. “Petro Baraka’s products are competitively priced and accessible to all. Over a year of usage and customer feedback has only strengthened our confidence,” Sid Ahmed said.

A major strength of the partnership, he added, lies in the open and responsive communication between Motor 9 and Petro Baraka’s executive team. “If ever there’s a formulation issue, we can directly address it with Petro Baraka—a luxury we don’t have with foreign suppliers. That transparency reinforces our credibility with clients.”

Highlighting the dynamism of their collaboration, Sid Ahmed disclosed that Motor 9 requested a custom formulation from Petro Baraka tailored to specific mechanical needs—and received it in record time. “That level of adaptability and responsiveness is exactly what we need to advance Algeria’s mechanical engineering sector.”

Motor 9’s founder concluded with a clear message: “Algeria has the capacity, talent, and infrastructure to compete with global players. Petro Baraka’s factory is a national pride—its professionalism and high standards reaffirm our belief in investing locally. This partnership is not just about oil—it’s about reclaiming industrial confidence in Algerian innovation.”
