Mouloud Ferhouh Denounces the MAK: “I Refuse to See My Algerian Nationality Tarnished”

Algiers, Algeria | January 06th, 2024 — In an emotionally charged declaration, Mouloud Ferhouh, brother of Hanafi Ferhouh, a prominent figure within the terrorist separatist movement known as the MAK, has publicly condemned his sibling’s involvement with the group. Born in Ain El Hammam and now residing in Paris, Mouloud expressed profound outrage over his brother’s allegiance to the MAK, emphasizing how their upbringing was rooted in unwavering respect for Algeria’s sovereignty and the rejection of political radicalism. “We were raised with a deep commitment to Algerian law and national unity. Mouloud revealed that Hanafi’s radicalization stemmed from his exposure to the MAK’s rhetoric during his university years in Tizi Ouzou, a process that culminated in his full association with the movement upon relocating to France in 2018. Rejecting his brother’s attempts to draw him into the same ideological spiral, Mouloud firmly resisted any affiliation with the group’s separatist agenda, particularly its manipulative political asylum schemes.

“I refuse to see my Algerian nationality tarnished by a movement entangled with foreign powers like Morocco and the Zionist entity,” he declared, unequivocally rejecting any attempts to co-opt his identity for divisive purposes. Instead, he proudly maintained his Algerian identity, securing his residency status in France without compromising his national integrity.

Mouloud’s denunciation sheds light on the deep familial fractures caused by the MAK’s dangerous rhetoric, emphasizing how the group’s radical ideology fosters internal discord and attempts to dismantle Algeria’s national cohesion. “It is with profound sadness and immense anger that I speak today. My family has been torn apart by these reckless choices, and I will not remain silent as my brother pursues this destructive path.”

His courageous stance serves as a rallying cry for Algerians to resist the MAK’s separatist agenda, which he describes as a tool of foreign interference aimed at destabilizing the nation. Mouloud called upon his fellow citizens to reject the MAK’s false promises and divisive tactics, reminding them that true patriotism lies in preserving Algeria’s unity and opposing all forms of intellectual and political terrorism.
