ALGIERS- Participants in the International Forum on Digital Administration and its Role in Modernizing Public Management in Algeria, organized by the Research and Studies Laboratory in New Media in coordination with the Media Department at Mohamed Boudiaf University in M’sila, commended the efforts of President Abdelmadjid Tebboune. They lauded his initiatives towards digitization, entrepreneurship, and innovation, aimed at wealth creation and supporting the national economy. The forum emphasized the need to accelerate the transition from traditional to digital administration in Algeria.
Professor Mohamed Dahmani, the director of the Research and Studies Laboratory in New Media, highlighted that the forum encouraged a swift shift from traditional to digital administration in Algeria. This involves providing the necessary requirements for digital administration, including human, technological, legal, and cybersecurity resources. It also entails enhancing Algeria’s digital infrastructure through partnerships with startups operating in the digital field.
The recommendations from the forum underscored the importance of having a strategic and clear vision for implementing digital administration, ensuring a seamless transition from traditional to digital within the framework of digital transformation. The emphasis was on moving towards digitization to enhance citizen trust, achieve public service quality, and ensure transparency in administrative transactions.
One of the key recommendations was to promote digital awareness through continuous training for all stakeholders involved in digital administration. This includes spreading technological culture and digital literacy. The establishment of a common portal, encompassing all digital platforms across sectors, was proposed to unify the exchange of information and government data, ensuring transparency and administrative efficiency.
The participants expressed their unanimous agreement on the well-organized structure of the forum, which witnessed the presentation of over 250 scientific papers, both in-person and remotely. The event also saw the participation of six international universities and over 40 national universities.
