ALGIERS- In a powerful and impassioned statement, the Secretary-General of the National Democratic Rally (RND) in Algeria, Mustapha Yahi, underscored the pivotal role played by the Battle of Al-Aqsa Flood in the broader Palestinian struggle for liberation. Speaking during a symposium dedicated to showing solidarity with the Palestinian cause, Yahi drew parallels between this event and Algeria’s own November 1 revolution that led to its independence. He stated, “Just as the November 1 revolution charted the path to Algeria’s independence, we believe, as the assembly family, that the Al-Aqsa flood will be a crossing and a path towards the liberation of Al-Aqsa.”
Yahi went on to express the deep awareness of the Algerian people regarding the Battle of Al-Aqsa Flood and how it mirrors the Liberation Revolution. He described the ongoing conflict in Palestine as nothing short of a tragedy, highlighting the suffering of the Palestinian people.
The Secretary-General also seized this opportunity to shed light on the actions of the Palestinian resistance, which, in his view, unveil the complicity of certain Arab regimes that have failed to support the central cause of the Arab nation. He praised President Tebboune for his strong condemnation of the situation and the decision to provide humanitarian aid to Gaza through an air bridge.
Yahi emphasized that Algeria’s unwavering support for the Palestinian resistance stems from the legacy of its own liberation revolution. He argued that justifying aggression under the pretext of self-defense has no place when dealing with a people defending their land against an occupying force, which, he believes, operates with the support of Western powers.
In condemning the ongoing violence in Palestine, Yahi decried the killing of innocent children and women, as well as the targeting of places of worship, schools, and journalists, labeling these actions as egregious crimes.
The Secretary-General of RND called for an immediate cessation of aggression and urged the establishment of safe corridors for the urgent entry of humanitarian aid and relief to the besieged people of Gaza. The message from Algeria is clear: unwavering support for the Palestinian cause and a strong call for an end to the suffering and violence in the region.
