New Ain Tsila gas field to be delivered in second half of 2023

ALGIERS- The CEO of the Sonatrach group, Toufik Hakkar, paid a working and inspection visit to the Ain Tsila field (Illizi), where he inquired about the progress of development projects in this region, said a statement from the oil and gas group posted on its Facebook page.

The projects consist of the realization of a network of 30 gas production wells, a gas processing center, as well as a power generation unit with a total capacity of 125 megawatts, in addition to a network of pipelines for the transport and distribution of fuels extending over 356 km.

The project works have reached “a very advanced stage” with a rate of 94% and should be delivered during the second half of 2023, according to the same press release.

It is expected that the industrial facilities for the development of the Ain Tsila field will reach a daily production of 10 million cubic meters of gas, 1,800 tons of liquefied petroleum gas and 1,600 tons of condensate, Sonatrach concluded.
