ALGIERS – The Airport Infrastructure Management Company (SGSIA) has introduced a series of measures aimed at improving access to the west terminal of Algiers International Airport. In a statement released on their official Facebook page yesterday, SGSIA announced the full reopening of all access points to the departure zone of the west terminal.

Enhanced Signage for Improved Navigation

As part of the initiative, SGSIA has installed comprehensive signage throughout the departure zone. These new signposts are strategically placed to guide passengers to the appropriate access gates and airline check-in counters. Designed for clarity and efficiency, the signage aims to minimize confusion and streamline the check-in process for travelers.

Proximity Indicators for Check-In Counters

In addition to the new signage, SGSIA has implemented proximity indicators for airline check-in counters. These indicators are positioned near each access gate within the drop-off area, commonly known as the departure zone. Passengers will now easily identify the location of their respective airline check-in counters, facilitating smoother check-in procedures and reducing congestion.

These proactive measures come in response to the evolving needs of passengers and airlines operating at Algiers International Airport. By enhancing accessibility and providing clear navigation guidance, SGSIA aims to optimize passenger experience and operational efficiency within the west terminal.

The implementation of these measures coincides with a recent leadership transition at Algiers Airport. Last week, Mokhtar Mediouni was appointed as the new head of the airport, signaling a renewed commitment to operational excellence and passenger satisfaction.
