ALGIERS- During a visit to the “Faderco” paper company in the industrial zone of Sétif, Minister of Labor, Employment, and Social Security Fayçal Bentaleb announced that a new project emphasizing orientation towards the job market through training will soon be unveiled.
The project, titled “Orientation Program,” has been developed in collaboration with four sectors and aims to provide training followed by direct recruitment by economic operators. Minister Bentaleb emphasized the importance of this approach, citing the successful experience of Faderco, which trained and subsequently employed 11 job seekers under indefinite-term contracts.
“The employment dynamic must be built on the foundation of training,” Minister Bentaleb stated, highlighting a global trend where job markets increasingly prioritize qualified and tailored training over formal degrees.
Moreover, Minister Bentaleb pointed out the continuous increase in contributions to the National Social Security Fund for Salaried Workers (CNAS) since the beginning of the year as evidence of genuine economic momentum in Algeria.
Acknowledging the supportive environment for investment created by recent governmental measures, Minister Bentaleb urged economic operators, including startups and micro-enterprises, to embrace the forthcoming project on training and employment. He emphasized that this strategic choice will add value to businesses, citizens, and the labor market as a whole.
Minister Bentaleb began his visit to the Sétif province by inspecting the headquarters of the National Social Security Fund for Non-Salaried Workers (CASNOS) in the El Eulma municipality. There, he received a detailed briefing on the employment sector in Sétif.
Over the past five years, Sétif has recorded over 80,000 employment opportunities across various sectors, including tourism, construction, public works, and agriculture, with 6,090 job offers registered in the first two months of 2024 alone.
The minister’s itinerary also included the inauguration of the Regional Agency of the National Fund for Social Welfare Equalization (FNPOS) and inspections of the CNAS and National Unemployment Insurance Fund (CNAT) agencies in Sétif city.
