Oil Change International Exposes Saudi Arabia’s 151 Oil Shipments to Zionist Entity, Marking Major Policy Shift

ALGIERS- In a report released by the Oil Change International research organization, it has come to light that Saudi Arabia has been actively involved in sending a staggering total of 151 oil shipments to the Zionist entity. This revelation has sparked urgent concerns regarding Saudi Arabia’s implicit backing of the ongoing atrocities and aggressions perpetrated by the Zionist regime against the defenseless Palestinian population.

Through tracing the supply chains of crude oil and refined products to the Zionist occupation entity, the organization revealed that “Saudi Arabia is involved in delivering shipments through Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan, and is also complicit in prolonging the duration of the war, in addition to Brazil.”

The disclosure of these oil shipments represents a profound departure from Saudi Arabia’s longstanding policy of solidarity with the Palestinian cause. By providing essential fuel to the Zionist military, Saudi Arabia is effectively inflicting further suffering upon the Palestinian people. This direct involvement in fueling the machinery of oppression has grave moral and ethical implications, as it implicates Saudi Arabia in the relentless cycle of violence and injustice that plagues the region.

By turning a blind eye to the plight of the Palestinian people, the Saudi government is complicit in perpetuating a grave injustice and contributing to the erosion of international norms and principles. The relentless bombardment of Gaza, the illegal occupation of Palestinian land, and the systemic violations of human rights are all facilitated by the flow of Saudi oil to the Zionist entity.

In a related context, the British newspaper “The Guardian” quoted human rights experts stating that “countries and companies supplying ‘Israeli’ forces with oil may be complicit in war crimes.”

David Boyd, the United Nations Special Rapporteur on Human Rights, stated: “Countries and companies providing ‘Israel’ with oil since the International Court of Justice’s decision are contributing to appalling violations and may be complicit in the genocide in Gaza.”

From this perspective, Saudi Arabia finds itself in a significant paradox, as its historical foreign policy stance advocating for Palestinian rights and sovereignty, including the establishment of a state with El Quds as its capital, has seemingly become a thing of the past. This shift contrasts with the actions of King Faisal of Saudi Arabia, who cut off oil supplies to the United States and Western countries during the Arab-Zionist War in 1973.

Saudi oil exports to the Zionist entity represent a step towards economic normalization between the two sides, following announcements by Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman regarding negotiations for diplomatic relations with the Zionist entity, facilitated by the United States.

The oil trade serves as a bargaining chip in economic and political negotiations between Saudi Arabia, the occupation, and the U.S. administration regarding normalization agreements, as reported by various news outlets.

Reports indicate that Riyadh “informed the White House of its readiness to increase oil production during the current year, aiming to gain the trust of Congress and reach a defense agreement in exchange for a normalization deal with the Zionist entity.”

The secrecy surrounding Saudi oil exports through Egyptian ports reflects a concern not to disclose these transactions at present, fearing negative repercussions on Saudi Arabia’s regional and Arab image amid the ongoing aggression on Gaza, as well as the apparent contradiction with Riyadh’s earlier calls to halt arms exports to Tel Aviv.
