ALGIERS- Two Algerian olive oil brands snatched prizes in an international competition in Japan.
These are the Baghlia and Dahbia olive oil brands which were rewarded during the 11th edition of the international competition ‘Japan Olive Oil Prize’ (Joop 2023) and whose results were unveiled on Tuesday, April 11.
Baghlia olive oil, produced by Huilerie Kiared (wilaya of Boumerdes) won the gold medal in the “Monovarietal” category. “Baghlia olive oil continues as usual to distinguish itself in the biggest international competitions, this time in Japan with a gold medal”, indicated Huilerie Kiared on its Facebook page.
As for Dahbia olive oil, it won the silver medal in the “Organic” category. “We are pleased to announce that Dahbia olive oil has just won its very first medal of the 2023 season in Japan in the Organic category,” the olive oil brand announced on its Facebook page, and to add: “We strive to produce one of the best olive oils in the world”. Noting that Dahbia olive oil is produced by Domaine Alilèche Hakim, located in Ain Ouessara in the wilaya of Djelfa.
Last March, Numidia olive oil, a brand of the Ifri group, produced in Huileries d’Ouzellaguen (wilaya of Bejaïa), was rewarded during the international competition Nuovo Olio Days 2023, which took place in Paris in France.
