Algiers, Algeria | November 09th, 2024 — In celebration of World Savings Day, Algeria’s Professional Association of Banks and Financial Institutions, along with national banks, has announced a series of open days from November 10 to 13 across universities and higher education schools nationwide. This initiative seeks to instill a strong foundation of financial knowledge among young Algerians, particularly in the areas of digital banking and electronic payment methods.
According to an official statement from the Association, the open days will focus on educating university students about the range of digital banking services available, including e-payment methods. By familiarizing students with digital banking products and services, the initiative aims to equip them with essential knowledge on financial services such as bank accounts, their uses, and associated benefits.
Additionally, the event will introduce students to electronic payment options, including bank cards and online payment services. The overarching goal is to promote financial inclusion by encouraging a culture of financial literacy among Algerian youth.
Representatives from various national banks will highlight banking practices and services in Algeria, aligning with the broader National Financial Literacy Program. This initiative will be part of a series of ongoing activities designed to strengthen financial awareness and support Algeria’s transition toward a digitally inclusive economy.
