ALGIERS- An agency of the Bank of Algeria (BoA) has been opened in the Timimoun province as part of the expansion of the banking network and the drive to stimulate development dynamics in this young province, announced the provincial authorities on Monday.
During the inauguration of this institution, the wali (governor) of Timimoun, Souna Benamar, emphasized the importance of deploying such structures, particularly the Bank of Algeria, in bringing banking services closer to clients, both businesses and individuals.
The new agency is expected to ensure the availability of liquidity at banks and post offices, as well as improve banking services and enhance the development momentum in the province, stated Vice-Governor of the BoA, Mohamed Benbahane.
This new facility is intended to spare future pilgrims from Timimoun the inconvenience of traveling to other structures in the Adrar province to complete banking formalities, affirmed the same official. Furthermore, he added that foreign tourists visiting Timimoun would also benefit from this bank by exchanging currencies on-site without having to travel to other cities.
Numerous economic operators and citizens have welcomed the opening of this banking facility, reflecting the state’s determination to support the new provinces.
