Over 200,000 new trainees join vocational training institutes on Sunday

More than 200,000 new trainees join, on Sunday, vocational training centers and institutes countrywide, on the occasion of the start of the February 2021-2022 session, for which all material and human resources have been mobilized, Minister of Vocational Training and Education said.

The official kick-off for the February 2022 professional start will be given from the wilaya of Bejaïa by the Minister of Vocational Training and Education, Yacine Merabi.

The vocational training and education sector is offering 283,991 new educational places for this start of the school year, in the various training methods, including 398 places dedicated to the physically disabled, distributed according to training methods, systems and qualification levels.

Of all these places, the sector provides 11,060 new direct places, 97,013 others through apprenticeship and 29,699 places for distance learning.

The sector has also planned 16,725 new places for training in evening classes, 5,403 for the benefit of populations in rural areas, 21,442 for housewives, 8,046 teaching places in approved private establishments, as well as 9,285 places for bridging training and 330 others as part of the literacy program.

The educational program of the sector provides for specialties covering 23 professional branches and appearing in the nomenclature of professional branches and professional training specialties.

Specialties are scheduled for the first time in some several wilayas. These are the specialties of “maintenance of energy systems and liquids, the oil industry and digitization in the areas of operation of water treatment plants and waste recycling, extraction of medicinal oils and aromatic herbs”.

According to the policy of the sector, the training offers and the open specialties are oriented towards the priority sectors within the framework of the national economy revival and to facilitate the professional integration of the graduates of the sector according to companies’ needs for skilled labour, the specificities of each region and modern technological developments.

With this in mind, the sector has focused training offers on sectors mainly related to the hotel industry, catering, tourism and crafts, the environment, digitization and renewable energies, as well as to specialties in the agri-food industry, agriculture and public works.

As part of the prevention of the pandemic and to preserve the health of trainees and vocational training staff, the ministry has taken a number of preventive measures by ensuring the availability of all the means necessary for this process.
